Tasty things are happening at Burgerville this spring! We are bringing a new burger to our everyday menu that represents our continued commitment to sustainability and our love of PNW flavors: the Grass-Fed Sweet Onion Burger. Local Carman Ranch grass-fed beef, topped with grass-fed white cheddar from Face Rock Creamery, griddled local onions, and our signature Sweet Onion Spread. Saucy, craveable, and sustainable!
To make this addition, we do need to acknowledge the grass-fed burger that started it all. In 2019, Burgerville introduced the No. 6 Burger to shine a light on something bigger than a burger: regenerative agriculture, soil health, and locally sourced ingredients—from grass-fed beef to regionally milled buns.
While the wave of regenerative agriculture has passed its peak, our commitment to sustainability hasn’t wavered. We are taking this moment to double-down on sustainability claims that our guests both understand and deeply care about: grass-fed and locally sourced ingredients. With that, we are retiring the No. 6 Burger to make room for this new delicious hyper-local grass-fed burger.
Carman Ranch Grass-Fed Beef
We are proud to continue our partnership with Carman Ranch, a woman-owned ranch in Wallowa, Oregon. On Carman Ranch, cattle live a natural life with their herd, grazing on a variety of native grasses and roaming as they please. This is what makes grass-fed beef a cut above the rest. The high quality of grass-fed beef is the direct result of a cow’s diet, which means better flavor, mouthfeel, minerals, and health benefits.

“The core values that underpin what we do: we care about the animals, we honor the lives they have, and we make sure their lives support nature. It’s coevolution, we need animals and they need us. We need to honor the relationship and the responsibility of it.” – Cory Carman
We love that Carman Ranch cares deeply for their cattle and consider themselves stewards of their land. Their grass-fed ranching is better for the herds, better for the environment, and supports the local rural economy.

Our Flavor Muse: Sweet Onion
When cooking up the idea for this new grass-fed burger, we turned to our legendary Walla Walla Onion Rings. Locally sourced, delectably sweet, and the perfect pairing for our grass-fed beef.
Our beloved Walla Walla’s inspired the flavors of our Sweet Onion Spread which combines our Original Spread with caramelized onions. The Sweet Onion Spread was a fan favorite last spring on our Backyard Burger, so we had to bring it back as a permanent addition to our sauce lineup.
The new Grass-Fed Sweet Onion Burger is jam-packed with local grass-fed ingredients, and we can’t wait for you to try it!
The Grass-Fed Sweet Onion Burger launches on February 24th.
