Slay Hunger, One Burger At a Time

National Cheeseburger Day 2020 is in the rearview mirror, and we’re here to pat everyone on the back. To our crew, our community and our guest for helping us SLAY HUNGER on September 18! We approached NCBD a little differently this year. We chose to give back to the community. For every Vampire Slayer Burger sold on NCBD Burgerville would give $1 back to a local organization working to end hunger in their community. AND thanks to you we sold 2802 Vampire Slayer burgers on September 18th! Blowing our goal of 2500 out of the water. Our combined sales of the VSB along with the generous gift of a match from our cheese partner, Face Rock Creamery, means we raised $5302 for Bandon Feeds the Hungry. How cool is that?

Bandon Feeds the Hungry President, Amy Moss Strong, wrote, “This is so wonderful! Bandon Feeds the Hungry is so grateful and I personally appreciate your efforts. My daughter who lives in Brush Prairie purchased Vampire Slayer burgers last Friday for her family and sent me a photo. So fun!” So while we get that donation rolling, please read on because there’s more to celebrate.

To our staff…we couldn’t have done this without you. We ran a fun contest to rally the spirits of our 40 restaurants (amidst wildfires and smoke we needed a rally). The top 3 restaurants that sold the highest percentage of Vampire Slayers over our other burgers would be given $1 for each Vampire Slayer burger sold to donate to an organization in their community. And it was close! And the winners are…

1.Aloha

2.Parkrose

3.Vancouver (Central Park)

Almost every restaurant was at or over 30%. And everyone in the organization helped exceed our initial goal. All of this is incredible considering it was our first day back since the wildfire smoke closures—and a big change in direction for National Cheeseburger Day! So thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for helping us SLAY HUNGER in the Pacific Northwest.
